I bought Disney gift cards, charge $5 each, used them on almost anything in the parks and resorts, brought home a wonderful card collection. You’ll find these at registers of larger gift shops. No surcharge so it’s practically free! I don’t recommend buying too many at a time in a busy shop though because it takes some time to charge each card.
Kim says
Key cards and paper Fastpasses are gone. But you can still get free samples a Ghiradelli at Downtown Disney.

Sketch a Disney character at the Animation Studio. It’s a fun class and one of my favorite souvenirs!

My kids were able to show their drivers licenses (picked up at Tomorrowland Speedway) for free fruit smoothies at the shop diagonally across from the Speedway. We had never heard they were FREE but when we went to buy smoothies, my daughter pulled her license out and was showing the cashier, when he said “oh you have one of those, that gets you a free smoothie!”. So then my son pulled his out, and he got a free smoothie too. We’ve done this on trips since then and the cashiers weren’t sure about how it worked, but they happily handed the kids free smoothies each time!

Keep your eye out for fun, plastic Mickey-head straws around Walt Disney World! These fun straws come in 4 different colors and only cost $0.49 each! We’ve found them at several quick-service dining locations in all 4 theme parks (ie: Columbia Harbor House in the Magic Kingdom) and also at a couple of the resort, like Disney’s Polynesian Resort in the gift shops!
Michele says
You can get Leis at the Polynesian FREE if even you aren’t a guest at that resort. You can take the monorail to the Polynesian from the Transportation and Ticket Center and go to the Polynesian to look around for FREE. The Leis are in the lobby of the resort in the area to the left as you walk in the door. My kids have also gotten FREE driver license cards at The Tomorrowland Speedway and at the Sci Fi Drive In Restaurant. You can get FREE Mardi Gras beads and coins at Port Orleans French Quarter, too.
